We’re Here to Help You Avoid Overdrafts

Life gets hectic — and sometimes your account balance does, too. Whether it’s a timing issue, an unexpected charge, or a simple oversight, overdrafts can happen to anyone. At Civista, we offer tools designed to help you stay in control of your balance and avoid unwanted fees, so you can manage your money with confidence.

Track Your Balance

Regularly monitoring account activity helps you stay on top of overspending, catch mistakes, and report suspicious activity. Use Civista’s digital and mobile banking services to activate account alerts and stay in the know, no matter where you are.

Review Your Monthly Statements

With subscription services, it’s easy to forget about the $10-$15 commitment you made months ago. Review your activity at the end of each cycle to catch unwanted withdrawals, and cancel subscriptions and services you no longer need.

Tools to Keep Your Account on Track

Overdraft Transfer Service

This links a savings account or any other compatible Civista deposit account to your checking account, automatically drawing funds from the former to cover the latter if a transaction would take you over the edge.

A small service fee may apply, but is less than a typical overdraft fee. If you’d like to set up an Overdraft Transfer Service on your accounts, get in touch with us and we’ll ensure your accounts are linked.

Overdraft Transfer Service

Standard Overdraft Coverage

This courtesy service permits Civista Bank to authorize and pay overdrafts at its discretion for checks, in-person withdrawals, recurring debit card transactions, or other automated payments up to a pre-assigned limit for your account.

Civista may also help pay overdrafts from everyday debit card and ATM transactions if you specifically opt-in for the service.

There is no additional cost associated with this service unless you use it. When used, the current Non-sufficient Funds (NSF) fee is charged for each paid item up to the daily limit.

What is Civista Standard Overdraft Coverage?
  • Civista Standard Overdraft Coverage is a bank service that protects your eligible payments and purchases when you do not have enough money in your account by covering the transaction on your behalf up to your available coverage. Examples include overdrafts resulting from checks, ACH payments, or recurring debit card payments. A standard coverage limit will be automatically assigned to your account.
